Paddington Art’s Photo Walk Art Exhibition
On March 22nd, 2023, the Photo Walk Art Exhibition officially opened its doors in Paddington Central, with the Lord Mayor of Westminster gracing the event. The exhibition, located at 2 Kingdom Street, W2 6A, features an impressive collection of artwork created by talented pupils from St Peters Primary School, St Mary of the Angels Primary School, and Ark Atwood Primary School.
The exhibition is a celebration of the immense creativity that these young artists have produced during the project. The exhibition is a result of the Photo Walk project, which aimed to inspire children to explore their local community through photography and art. Leading the project was Steve and Gail. During the project, students were taken on a walk around the local area, where they were encouraged to take photographs of their surroundings and create artworks based on their observations such as nature, people and little animals.
The project was a great success, and the resulting artworks are a testament to the creativity and talent of the young artists. The exhibition features a wide range of mediums, including photography and painting which has been created into a collage by Gail. Each piece is unique, reflecting the individual perspectives and experiences of the young artists.
The exhibition takes place in a predominantly corporate setting, with the aim of breaking down barriers between the corporate world and the local community. It provides an opportunity for the community to engage with the art and connect with the young artists. It is also a reminder of the importance of creativity in our lives and the value of supporting young talent.
The Photo Walk Art Exhibition is a must-visit for anyone interested in supporting the arts and celebrating young talent. It is an inspiring and thought-provoking exhibition that showcases the immense creativity and potential of our young people.
The exhibition is open to the public and will run until April 14th, 2023. Don’t miss the chance to see the incredible artwork produced by these talented young artists.
Here is what the teachers said:
“Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the exhibition on Wednesday. They were incredibly excited to see their faces being part of the art! I asked them afterwards what their favourite part of the experience was. One child said, ‘seeing Diar’s face on the wall was crazy!’. Another said, ‘ I loved looking at the art from other schools’. They were very starstruck by the visit of the Lord Mayor and were full of questions about who he knows! It was a very enjoyable trip for the children and it was lovely to see them beaming with pride for their work!”
