If you enjoy dance, drama, Break dancing and playing steel pan or even participating in the Notting Hill carnival the biggest and best carnival in Europe, then Paddington Arts has something to offer you!
At Paddington Arts all our classes are designed to cater for amateur, intermediate and advanced participants, all classes are also split into age brackets: 6-10 year olds, 11-15 year olds and 16-26 year olds.
6-10 year olds
We run a large number of different sessions from dance, drama, Break dancing and steel pan, to half term holiday projects, a summer school during the six weeks summer holidays, we also have two brilliant shows a year for family, friends and the local community: all put together and created by the young people.
Aged 11-15?
Why not come down and enjoy one of our many street dance sessions, no experience necessary. Our tutors will teach you all the latest moves you need to know! Not to mention hearing all the latest beats, and because here at Paddington Arts we’re confident that you’ll be back for more we’ll give you your first session free! Or join in with one of our drama sessions and be the next Johnny Depp or Julia Roberts.
Aged 16-26?
Now you are a difficult age group to please (lol), but here at Paddington Arts we’ve got the remedy and the ingredients to keep everybody who walks through our doors wanting to come back for more, so whether you’d like to dance, act, play steel pan, or just visit us once a year to take part in the Notting Hill carnival then Paddington Arts is the place for you.
Drama
The drama sessions that are run at Paddington Arts are fun and light-hearted, but extremely educational at the same time. The scripts that we use are mainly comedy based so as to keep up with the positive nature of our shows and are written by our very own Eldora Edward. They are extremely memorable and if you’re not interested in starring in them, we strongly suggest you come and watch them, as they always are fantastic.
Dance
Over the course of the year Paddington Arts offers a range of different kinds of dancing from contemporary to street dance. Professional dance tutors run the classes and they deliver amazing routines for our showcase events that take place twice each year. The sessions are engaging and are adapted to the ability of the young people that attend each classes.
Steelpan
Paddington Arts likes to keep up with culture so we offer lessons in playing steel pan. This offers the young people to learn an instrument that they might not otherwise have a chance to learn. The songs that the tutors teach to the young people are fit for their abilities and are pleasant to watch and listen to.
Carnival
In the entire month of August, Paddington Arts teams Up with Elimu and forms Elimu Paddington Arts Mas Band. Anyone can join up and we offer people a chance to be a part of the Notting Hill Carnival Parade, whether you would like to wear a section costume, individual costume, or even to wear the t-shirt. We also offer people a chance to learn how to physically make the costumes and have an input into the design and the arts of carnival.
How To Get Involved
All you have to do is come down to Paddington Arts Monday to Thursday between the hours of 10am and 6pm, fill out a membership form (Your parents or guardian will have to do this for you if your under the age of 16) pay the mere membership fee of ONLY £30 for the whole year.
